The 38th National Games, held in Uttarakhand from January 28 to February 14, 2025, served as a major platform for athletes across India. Under the guidance of the Bihar State Sports Authority (BSSA), the Bihar contingent showcased significant growth in sporting infrastructure and talent. The event, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and concluded by Home Minister Amit Shah, highlighted the spirit of "Sankalp Se Shikhar Tak" (Reaching Heights With Resolve).
Bihar secured a total of 12 Medals throughout the championship.
The tally includes 1 Gold, 6 Silver, and 5 Bronze medals.
The Women's Lawn Ball team (T. Khushboo, Payal, and Nikhat) clinched the historic Gold medal.
Bihar's Women's Rugby team secured a prestigious Silver medal.
The 38th National Games were hosted across various cities in Uttarakhand, including Dehradun, Haridwar, and Nainital.
- Overall Champions: The Services Sports Control Board (SSCB) dominated with 68 Gold medals, followed by Maharashtra and Haryana.
- Vision for 2036: Union Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya declared Uttarakhand as "Khel Bhoomi" and emphasized India's goal to host the 2036 Olympics.
- Next Destination: The flag has been passed to Meghalaya to host the 39th National Games in 2026.
The results and improved performance reflect the initiatives of the Bihar State Sports Authority under the Bihar Government. The closing ceremony was addressed by Home Minister Amit Shah, who praised the impact of "Khelo India" on youth participation.
