🌴 Grand NMBA Youth Rally in Goa

The Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, in collaboration with the Government of Goa, is organizing a grand public event under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA). This landmark youth rally against drug abuse is scheduled for 27th February 2026 at the Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium, Bambolim, Goa.

🛡️ Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA)

Launched on 15th August 2020 by the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, the NMBA is currently reaching new milestones in its 6th year. Initially rolled out in 272 of the most vulnerable districts, the campaign has now been successfully expanded to cover all districts across the country.

The Abhiyaan focuses heavily on mass awareness generation, with special emphasis on higher educational institutions, university campuses, schools, and community-level outreach.

The Goa event will be graced by Goa Chief Minister Shri Pramod Sawant and Union Minister for Social Justice & Empowerment Dr. Virendra Kumar.
🎤 Event Highlights
The rally includes the administration of a mass oath against drugs (online and offline), cultural programmes, and the felicitation of active participants and partners.

📈 Major Achievements & Strategic Partnerships

The campaign has achieved massive scale and mobilized millions across the nation to reject substance use.

  • Mass Sensitization: More than 25.93+ crore people have been sensitized on the issue of substance use, including over 9.35+ crore youth and 6.38+ crore women.
  • Educational Outreach: Participation has been ensured from over 16.15+ lakh educational institutions, guaranteeing wide coverage among children and youth.
  • Spiritual MoUs: The Department signed MoUs with eight prominent spiritual organizations to strengthen mass awareness: The Art of Living, Brahma Kumaris, Sant Nirankari Mission, ISKCON, Shri Ram Chandra Mission, All World Gayatri Pariwar, Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Dhanwantari Ashram, and the University of Patanjali.
