IGNCA Unveils 'Janjati Gaurav' Book: Chronicling India's Tribal Heritage & Resistance
The Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts (IGNCA) has taken a significant step towards preserving India's rich tribal heritage with the publication of a new book titled
“Janjati Gaurav”
. This initiative is a core part of its mission to document and widely disseminate knowledge concerning the history, culture, and contributions of India’s tribal communities. The publication critically examines and brings to the fore the significant role of tribal societies in the freedom struggle
as well as in the subsequent process of nation-building. It serves as a single source aggregating historical narratives, archival sources, and insightful scholarly interpretations focused on prominent tribal leaders and movements spanning diverse regions of the country. By making this knowledge accessible, the book aims to promote broader awareness and appreciation among scholars, students, and the general public.
