The Government has introduced the Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin): VB-G RAM G Act, 2025. This transformative legislation aligns the rural development framework with the national vision of Viksit Bharat @2047. A historic upgrade from previous schemes, the Act provides an enhanced statutory wage employment guarantee of 125 days in each financial year to rural households volunteering for unskilled manual work.
Guarantees at least 125 days of wage employment per financial year (increased from the traditional 100 days).
Creation of a Viksit Bharat National Rural Infrastructure Stack focusing on water security, core infra, and disaster mitigation.
Usage of AI for planning/audits, biometric authentication, and integration with PM Gati Shakti.
90:10 for NE/Himalayan States & UTs (J&K, HP, UK); 60:40 for other States with legislature.
The Act emphasizes a "whole of government" delivery approach:
- Participatory Planning: Works are identified through Viksit Gram Panchayat Plans approved by the Gram Sabha.
- Four Thematic Domains: (i) Water-related works (Water Security), (ii) Core rural infrastructure, (iii) Livelihood-related infrastructure, and (iv) Special works for extreme weather events.
- Convergence: Plans are aggregated at Block, District, State, and National levels, powered by geospatial systems and digital public infrastructure.
