The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India, has announced the nomination of Indian Police Officers (IPOs) from various Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) to attend the prestigious United Nations Police Pre-Deployment Training (UNPOL-PDT). Organized by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) in partnership with the Centre for UN Peacekeeping (CUNPK), this course is designed to equip officers with the necessary skills to function effectively in United Nations Peacekeeping Operations (UNPKO).

The course aims to prepare officers for the complex environment of UN missions. The curriculum is divided into comprehensive modules:
- Core Values: Understanding UN values, behavior, and conduct discipline.
- Mandates: Implementing Security Council mandates, Protection of Civilians (POC), and Child Protection.
- Policing Skills: Community Oriented Policing (COP), Intelligence Led Policing (ILP), and Human Rights standards.
- Safety: Training on road safety, health, stress management, and individual security awareness.
The MHA has nominated officers from the UN SAAT Panel 2024-26 for this course. Some of the nominated officers include:
- CISF: Piyali Sharma (Sr. Comdt), Ajay Tripathi (DC), Tushar Dnyaneshwar Sakhare (Sr. Comdt).
- BSF: Ravinder Thakur (2IC).
- CRPF: Mahashakti Upadhyay (2IC).
- ITBP: Abhijit Samaiyar (Comdt).
- SSB: Tapeswar Sambit Raut (2IC), Vaibhav Singh Parihar (2IC).
